There is no shortage of hackathon directories. None of them tell you whether a prize is worth your weekend.

HackOdds indexes 158 live opportunities across six verified feeds and ranks them on one ratio: declared prize against reported competition. A $700k pool with an unknown field and a $10k pool with fifteen entrants are different propositions, and a list sorted by prize alone cannot tell you which is which.

The harder problem is what the feeds do not say. Most publish no participant count at all. Printing that as zero rivals would make every unlisted event look like an empty room and quietly inflate the ranking in your favour. 50 of the entries on the board today are in exactly that position, and each one says so.

Most of these run online, which is the other half of the idea. Opportunity has no coordinates: the field is global, and the only thing narrowing it is what you can see about who else showed up.
